About Us

Gorilla Tango Writer Source is an offshoot of Gorilla Tango Theatre (www.gorillatango.com), a year-round live performance venue located in Bucktown in the heart of Chicago, IL.

GTT typically receives hundreds of play submissions each year. At the same time, GTT works with hundreds of producers and directors each year, many of whom are looking for projects to produce. We started to keep an electronic library of submitted scripts for Producer/Directors to look through when searching for a show. The interest in this library was so great that we came upon the idea of Gorilla Tango Writer Source: an online library where Playwrights from across the country can submit their scripts for Producers and Directors from across the country to review - all for FREE! This is a great way for playwrights who aren't connected to the big publishing companies like Samuel French or Dramatists to get their plays out to the world, and a great way for Producers and Directors who are looking for original work to find new talent.

Gorilla Tango Writer Source serves as a clearinghouse and a meeting point. Scripts are uploaded for free, and Producers and Directors can read through the entire library without charge. Once a script is found, Producer/Directors contact Writer Source at [email protected] and we negotiate the rights on your behalf directly with the Playwright for the use of their script.

We are currently in our Beta testing phase. We invite authors to submit their play scripts to the site and spread the word about this new resource! We encourage Producers and Directors to start reading and rating the scripts they find on www.gorillatango.ws!
